RIRI CAN TOP TLC
Be warned: Rihanna has a Twitter account, and she’s prepared to use it. Speaking of the “Umbrella” star, Tionne (T-Boz) Watkins said on Australian TV Thursday, “Every time I see you, you don’t have to be naked.” Her TLC bandmate Rozonda (Chilli) Thomas haughtily added: “We became the biggest girl selling group of all time with our clothes on and that says a lot.” Within hours, RiRi responded perfectly — by posting a picture on Twitter from a photo shoot the pair did in their heyday … topless. Whoops!
“Top Gun” Tom Cruise can’t manage to get his top button closed. While signing autographs outside the “Daily Show With Jon Stewart” studio in New York City, Cruise should have probably exchanged his Sharpie for a safety pin, after it became clear the slim fit isn’t quite working for him anymore.
Call it “Of Mice and Men and Madonna.” The Material Girl stopped by Longacre Theatre Wednesday to see 2014 Tony Award nominee Chris O’Dowd and co-star James Franco perform Steinbeck’s classic. There were as many stars in the audience as on stage, with Julianne Moore and Julia StIles also in the house. Stiles soon will be performing in “Phoenix” when it opens at the Cherry Lane Theatre on July 28.
“Prisoners” star Jake Gyllenhaal was spotted scoping out a pad in Nolita, just weeks after he reportedly attended an open house in Tribeca. Gyllenhaal toured a $2.85 million, one-bedroom loft at 241 Lafayette St. a few weeks back and then returned for a second look, our spies said. The apartment has 10-foot ceilings, oak hardwood floors and views to the north, east and west. Too bad Gyllenhaal is single. The listing babble described the pad as a “lover’s dream.”
Every neighborhood will be Nicki Minaj’s neighborhood on Saturday. To celebrate her single “Pills N Potions,” the rapper and designer will have an RV traveling throughout New York City giving away loads of clothing from her Nicki Minaj Collection for KMart. At 11 a.m., find her fuchsia-colored clothing truck at 106th and Third Ave., then at Brown Underground in Queens at 3 p.m., followed by Barclays Center at 5:30 p.m. and Fulton Mall at 6:15 p.m.
Even though she’s mastered the art of makeup these days, Melissa McCarthy tells the July issue of Redbook she used to be into the goth look. “I wore white kabuki makeup, had blue-black hair,” the star tells the mag. “At one point I shaved an inch and a half around my hairline and continued the white makeup up, so it made my head look slightly deformed.”
